Find your Passion

As I've mentioned before, I'm not that into resolutions.  I like thinking of things as little tasks instead of great big goals.  Turns out I'm not the only one thinking that way. Patti Murphy created Project 365 as a way "to make tiny changes that ultimately are more effective to getting to the 'big resolution.'”  Each day she posts something new to "think, believe, & do."  When I read Patti's first post about Project 365, I found myself nodding at the computer & thinking, "Ugh, yes!"  Finally someone else who is a little anti-resolutions.

Day 1 encouraged us to choose a word for 2013.  Easy peasy.  I chose PASSION.  Lately I've felt totally lost & have really been beating myself up over my lack of direction.  I'm 26 years old & have absolutely no idea what I want to be doing with my life.  Don't get me wrong, I do a lot of things that I really enjoy.  I like my job.  I like roller derby.  I even like living in Iowa.  But I'm feeling a little lackluster...No.  I'm downright sad that I haven't found that spark.  Depressed that I don't know what it is that I LOVE.

For some time now I've been wracking my brains to figure it out.  Wracking so hard that I've got myself worked up & stressed out.  Just a few days ago my oh-so-smart husband pointed out that this isn't going to happen overnight.  It could take me a long time to figure it out & I just can't keep stressing.  So for me, 2013 is all about finding something to be passionate about & working hard to stay tremendously interested in it.  {That Julia Child was a pretty smart lady, wasn't she?}  My plan is to try lots of new things, give lots of old things a second chance, & document it all here.  Wish me luck?
